W6RF finally has the new 3 ele. 40/30 through 6 meter SteppIR installed at my Arizona QTH (Approx. 60 miles SouthWest of Grand Canyon).Boy! Bill(K1WN) was right about that antenna. It's slick!
Now I'm looking at the new FT-DX9000MP XCVR and maybe a new solid state linear to complete the station. It's so nice to have 5 acres and not have to worry about CCR's. I missed my ranch in California. Now I'm at 5500 Ft. elevation with a 280 degree clear view from North to South. The 50' tower will get me over the mountains to my East.
Looking forward to getting back on the net if prop. would just come up off the "Floor".
We are thinking of re-naming the JEH award since we all know what type of person he was! Otherwise all other awards are still in play. Drop me a line if you think of a really unique name for working 1 through 0 areas of USIPARC members. "Most wanted 10"? If you are unaware of what we are referring to; just check with W1WA. He has the book etc.
Looking forward to QSO with you all again on the HF or VHF or UHF. CW/SSB/RTTY/AM/FM etc.
Hope to be in the contest this coming May 5th and 6th.
I do still have a modest FT-100 and ATAS (Screw driver type) antenna mounted only about 12FT on the side of the house here in Vegas. But will be spending more time over at the Arizona QTH, come hot weather here in Vegas.
