Member Update:

Attention IPARC members,  Mike Zane, N6ZW, will be off again on one of his DXpeditions.  This time he is heading to the big island of Hawaii.  Big deal you say,  probably caved in to his wife demands to go to Hawaii.  And how exotic is Hawaii for a DXpeditions anyway?  Well lets face it we are all envious because he is doing what we all want to do.   Anyhow Mike will be there from March 23 to the 30th, 2002.  Mike will take his FT 100, SGC tuner and a long wire.  Mike will try to make the Net on March 24 and again on the 27, so anyone needing a KH6 check in and chat with Mike.  Have fun Mike and when you get back we will expect a story and photos.

In the fall of 2000 Clarence Kerous W9AAZ  ventured off to the Caribbean, Guadaloupe to be exact with four fellow hams on a DXpedition.  Click here for story and photos

Mike Zane vacationed in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands in March of 2001.  Click here for story and photos
Here is Mike Zane (N6ZW) hard at work on his QSO's while vacationing in Little Bay, St Maarten Island, summer of 1999.  Mike had over 100 QSO's, worked 22 countries, 26 states and 32 IPARC members.  Great Job Mike

This is how Dick Postma (KO6DL) spent the summer of 1999, kayaking down the Yukon River for 1300 miles.  Dick was kayak mobile, note the OutBacker antenna provided by Alex Dutkewych (VE3IPA). Dick was able to stay in touch with his wife, Leona (KE6GUA), with the aid of the members of the Alaska Pacific Net.  This photo was taken in the Yukon Charley National Park near the Arctic Circle.  The radio station consisted of a Icom 706, a Outbacker Outreach antenna, 2 power station gel cell batteries, and a Uni-Solar USF-11 solar panel.

Bill, K1WN , IPARC VP and Pat Needham arriving at  St.George, Bermuda. Bill is wearing the club station tee shirt for the USS Salem "K1USN" that has been made a floating museum in Quincy Ma. where it was built.  Bill did not get a chance to do any DXing but had a great time non the less.

Going on a DX pedition, or do you have something that the membership would like know about?  Send me the information and I will put it in this section.
